An interesting aspect of the Japanese language is that the subject is often omitted from sentences, if it is understood clearly from context who or what the subject is. From a theory standpoint, and how this theory translates to an understanding of culture or being, action alone can make a full sentence in Japanese. So, a way to look at this is, without action, there is no being. Action is necessary in order to exist. 

行きました (Ikimashita) : I went. 

There is no clear in the subject above, but because I acted, I exist.
